General Relief Society Broadcast

I was able to go with a couple of my sisters and my mom to the General Relief Society Broadcast. It was amazing. The spirit was so strong there. And I felt like all of the talks were written just for me.
On another note, right before my sister Ganel met my mom and I in the conference center, she ran into one of my best friends and is also my sister's sister-in-law, Christa Cobabe who is serving her mission on Temple Square. I guess you could call us sister's in law-law :) They made plans to meet up with all of us at a specific point afterward so that I could see her. It was so awesome. I hadn't seen her since I had Elle, so I am going to try and go up there on her Pday and take her and her companion out to lunch. I had so much fun.
After the broad cast, my sister Kaitlyn, my mom and I went out to eat at Market Street Grill. Yummy! Here is a pic from the broadcast last year and this year.

Elle Teasing Noah

So Elle figured out how to dangle her food over the side of her high chair and tease Noah. She thinks it is the most hilarious thing ever. I think this is just a preview of the little handful she will be in a couple of years. She is already so independent. Just like her papa :) Enjoy the video!

California Trip (again)

Once again it has been almost a month since my last post. I went to California for a week to help my sister Carmel get settled into her new house and for Emerson's blessing. It was such a fun trip. I was so grateful to be there. Here are a few pics. My cousin Amber and my little brother Derek drove out with me. I wasn't able to get any pictures of Carmel's two other boys, Ethan and Preston simply because they are 7 and 8 years old :)
P.S.
Sorry to those of you that I was not able to see while I was out there. I was there to help my sister so I didn't call anyone.

Family

This past Monday my grandparents were in town. They had just gotten back from a family reunion that was held in England. All the family in the area got together for dinner and I prepared a little lesson for family home evening. All in all, it turned out a huge success. All the girl cousins decided to take some pics, and we got a little goofy. As girls sometimes do...:) I had so much fun. But it made me really miss the family that could not be there (Carmel). Hopefully someday (like when Jake retires from the Navy) we can all live by each other. Until then, all you family that live near by, let's make this a habit! Also, if any of you family members want copies of these pictures you can download them off our flickr account by clicking on that picture in the slide show and then clicking open photo in new window. On the flickr site click "All Sizes" above the photo to download it full size.

Last Weekend

This last weekend was insane! Actually this whole week has been crazy. And this weekend will be very busy as well. Which is why I am finally posting at 1;30 in the morning.
But seriously, last weekend was out of control. We were able to go to our friend Scotty's wedding at the Manti temple at 10:30 am on sat. which meant we had to leave our house by around 8 or 8:30 ready to go. These amazing pictures are from right after the wedding. Thank you Sienna! Our camera finally gave up the ghost that morning, so we were not able to take any pictures our selves. Anyway, I am getting off track. We got home at around 2:15 took the dog on a walk, grabbed wedding gifts. Tried to go buy a camera, but nothing was priced very well. Drove up to Sandy, went to my friend Megan's wedding. Then went straight to Scotty's reception, and then straight to Jake's grandparents 50th wedding anniversary.
On Sunday, we had a baby blessing and a missionary farewell. And this week, we recarpeted the basement in our rental property that Jake owns with his uncle. And then tonight and tomorrow, we are cleaning the entire place. Cause let's face it. 10 single guys living together? Nasty!!!!
I hope I don't sound like I am complaining. Things are wonderful...just really busy:) So bear with me if I cannot update my Blog as often as I would like.
P.S. In The picture of Elle by herself, Jake was holding her. She is not that advanced...yet :)

Old Friends

We had our friends Chrissie and Sevak over for dinner last week sometime (I don't remember which day) and we had so much fun! Chrissie and I were roommates back in the day and we both have baby girls that are just a couple of months apart. It's nice to have so many friends near by with babies near Elle's age. Anywho, I made the most delicious chicken. I hope I don't sound cocky It was all due to the recipe. I didn't do anything special. Anyway here is the recipe and a pic of Chrissie and I with our babes...I mean babies :)

Honey Baked Chicken:
1/4 cup butter/marg
1/2 cup honey
1 Tbsp Dijon mustard (I used honey mustard)
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. curry powder (you can't even taste the curry for those of you who don't like it)
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Prehest oven to 375 degress, place butter/marg in a 9' square pan in oven to melt for about 5 mins. Stir honey, mustard, salt and cury powder into melted butter/marg. Coat both sides of chicken pieces with mixture as you place it in the pan. Bake 20 mins, turn and bake 15 mins more. (It took mine a little longer to cook, but they were really thick chicken breasts).Serve with rice or noodles.

2 Years!

We had our 2 year anniversary on the 15th. I know that it doesn't seem like a long time to some of you veterans, but it seems like a very long time to me. And yet at the same time, those 2 years went by so quickly. I know that this sounds so cliche, but it seriously seems like just yesterday I was checking Jake out at his house for the first time :) What a babe!
Anyway, we had a wonderful evening. Our friends Megan and Davey Guerrerro were kind enough to watch Elle while we went out. (Thank you!) And being the new mom that I am, we were not out for very long.
Jake surprised me by taking me out to dinner at a very ritzy place called Chef's table. It's pricey, but worth every penny. The food was Amazing! I felt so pampered. The hostess pulls your chair out for you and even places your napkin for you on your lap. Anyway, if any of you can ever go there, I would definitely recommend it.
Jake also Bought me this beautiful bouquet.
All in all, it was wonderful. I never thought that I would be so blessed to have such a wonderful husband and such a beautiful little girl. I know that I take them both for granted sometimes. But I love them both dearly. These past 2 years have been amazing and I'm looking forward to the future and what it will bring.
